Galloping Goose Trail closed weekdays near Viaduct Park Nov 17–Dec. Detour via Waterfront Crescent, Jutland, Cecelia, Napier. Open weekends.

Starting November 17, a section of the Galloping Goose Trail through Viaduct Park will be closed on weekdays for approximately five weeks to accommodate BC Hydro infrastructure upgrades. A one-kilometre detour will be in place using Waterfront Crescent, Jutland Road, Cecelia Road, Napier Lane, and the pathway along Cecelia Ravine Bike Park. Detour maps and signage will be posted along the route. The detour includes an option for pedestrians and a slightly different route for cyclists and wheelchair users to ensure accessibility and safety. The trail will remain open on weekends.

This work supports the Victoria to Esquimalt Cable Replacement Project, which will replace a corroded underground transmission cable to improve reliability and address seismic risks. For more information and project updates, visit BC Hydro’s project page
