Community Works Fund

The Community Works Fund (CWF) is administered by the Union of BC Municipalities (UBCM) to allocate federal Gas Tax Funding based on population to each local government in British Columbia. The Capital Regional District (CRD) receives funds for each electoral area (Juan de Fuca, Salt Spring Island and Southern Gulf Islands) and allocates funding on a per capita basis. The funds are allocated within an agreement framework that sets out project category and requirements.

As of April 1, 2021, CWF funding can be used towards eligible costs of the following eligible investment categories:

  • Local roads, bridges
