The Mayne Island Parks and Recreation Service is a community park network managed and operated by volunteers who sit on the Mayne Island Parks & Recreation Commission (MIPRC). These volunteer commissioners manage community parks, shore accesses, and trails on Mayne Island. The community parks support a diversity of natural landscapes from older forests, dry woodlands, rock cliffs, sandstone shorelines and sandy beaches. There are shore accesses that allow public use of the waterfront or a viewpoint and an extensive trail network throughout the island. MIPRC is also responsible for recreation and offers grants to community groups to deliver recreation services and activities throughout the year.
Community Parks & Trails
When visiting community parks and trails, please respect the nearby private properties, leave no trace, and leave any natural treasures for others to appreciate. Fires and camping are not allowed, and the trails are designed for low-impact use. While some trails have rough, steep terrain, exposed roots, and steep stairs without railings for an adventurous experience, these parks and trails may not be easily accessible for those with mobility issues. Please clean up after your dog and ensure it is under control at all times.
