Hartland Landfill
About Hartland Landfill
Hartland Landfill is owned and operated by the CRD and is located about 14km northwest of the City of Victoria. It is the only solid waste disposal facility in the Capital Region, serving about 440,000 people.
Hartland is a multi-purpose facility that receives 180,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste per year from both residential and commercial customers. In addition to solid waste, Hartland landfill accepts recycling, hazardous waste, salvageable materials, and organic materials like kitchen scraps and yard and garden waste.
Based on our latest calculations, if the current disposal rate continues, we expect Hartland Landfill to be full by the year 2100.
