Get to Know Your H2O!

Ever wonder how your drinking water is delivered from source to tap?

Join us on a Get to Know Your H2O Tour to learn more about where your water comes from and how it is protected and treated. This 5.5 hour tour follows the flow of our water supply starting at the north end of Sooke Lake Reservoir to the surrounding forests and Rithet Creek, the main tributary to Sooke Lake Reservoir.  During the tour you will have an opportunity to explore Sooke Lake Dam, go on a forest walk and explore the ecosystems that support our water supply and visit the Goldstream Ultra Violet Treatment plant to learn about the water treatment process that provides Greater Victoria with award winning drinking water.

Important Notes

  • Tours are for ages 12 and up only
  • Tours are limited to 42 participants
  • Dress appropriately for outdoor activities, no open toed shoes - we recommend dressing in layers as the weather changes quickly inside the watershed
  • Bring a lunch, water, sunscreen and bug spray
