Source Water
The Sticks Allison Water System obtains its drinking water from a deep well located 75m east of Galiano Way Rd and 400m south of Sticks Allison Rd.
Water Treatment Process
The well water is disinfected at the well-head using ultraviolet light and chlorine (liquid sodium hypochlorite).
Distribution System
Disinfected water is pumped to a 90,000 litre storage reservoir and then is distributed to customers through a network of 100mm (4") pipes. The distribution system contains both fire hydrants and standpipes. Service connections are provided to the property with curb stops and individual household meters. Service from the property line to the dwelling is the homeowners’ responsibility.
Emergency Notifications
Register for the Public Alert Notification System to receive drinking water related notifications such as boil water advisories. This system is also used to notify Electoral Area residents in the event of a disaster or emergency such as earthquakes, tsunami warnings, or hazardous spills.
