Woodpile Burning in Watershed

Woodpile burning inside the watershed will continue into November.

Woody debris pile burning will be occurring in the Greater Victoria Water Supply Area (watershed) throughout October and into November when weather conditions permit.

Woody debris pile burning is important in managing built up forest fuels to decrease the risk of wildfire during dry summer months. Piles are only burned when venting conditions are suitable in accordance with provincial regulations.

Residents in nearby areas may see light smoke plumes.
