Rain barrels capture water through the downspouts of your roof's eaves troughs and hold it for later use on lawns, gardens or indoor plants. Collecting roof runoff in rain barrels or cisterns reduces the amount of water that flows off your property, an important adaptation to our changing climate.

Rainwater harvesting has multiple environmental benefits: it saves our drinking water, reduces pressure on the aging storm drain system, is healthy for many plants, and protects fish and aquatic habitat!

his workshop will be delivered by Gord Baird from Eco Sense, who has an American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association Designer & Installer Certification and lives locally, harvesting our west coast rain.
