The CRD is pleased to announce, applications for the Southern Gulf Islands Emergency Resilience Grant are open until May 13, 2025. The Southern Gulf Islands (SGI) Emergency Resilience Grant is intended to help island communities increase their emergency preparedness and resilience. We welcome all individuals, businesses, organizations, and community groups to apply for the 2025 SGI Emergency Resilience Micro Grants or Impact Grants during the Spring intake period.
There are two types of grant funding streams available:
- Community Resilience Micro Grant - Up to 10 Micro Grants are available, each for a maximum of $500
- Emergency Resilience Impact Grant - Up to four Impact Grants are available, each for a maximum of $5,000
Eligibility
Eligible projects are new initiatives that have a community-wide impact on resilience, defined as the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from emergency events. "emergency" means a present or imminent event or circumstance that:
- is caused by accident, fire, explosion, technical failure or the forces of nature,
- requires prompt coordination of action or special regulation of persons or property to protect the health, safety or welfare of a person or to limit damage to property.

The application deadline is May 13, 2025.
All applicants are required to submit an electronic copy of the entire application, including a completed Application Form with all required attachments indicated by the 2025 Grant Application Guide.
