Province Offers Disaster Financial Assistance for CRD Electoral Areas Impacted by Flooding

The Province of British Columbia is providing Disaster Financial Assistance (DFA) to help people, businesses and communities in the Capital Regional District’s three Electoral Areas recover from flooding caused by heavy rainfall between December 10 and 19, 2025.

Residents and organizations in Salt Spring Island, the Southern Gulf Islands and Juan de Fuca Electoral Areas may be eligible for support to cover uninsurable, disaster-related losses. Assistance is available to homeowners, renters, business owners, farmers, corporation-owned properties, charitable organizations, local governments and Indigenous communities.

Applications must be submitted by April 13, 2026. For details and to apply online, visit dfa.gov.bc.ca.
