The Capital Regional District (CRD), in partnership with the Community Social Planning Council (CSPC) and the Alliance to End Homelessness in the Capital Region, today released the 2023 Greater Victoria Point-in-Time (PiT) Count results.
The Capital Regional District (CRD) Salt Spring Island Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture (PARC) is developing a 20-year site master plan for Portlock Park. This project was identified as a priority in the 2019 Salt Spring Island Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan in response to the community's desire for increased access to recreation facilities and infrastructure development for additional playing fields on Salt Spring Island.

The official nomination period for the 2023 Salt Spring Island Local Community Commission election has now closed.
Every year the Capital Regional District (CRD) administers grants and funding for local projects in the Juan de Fuca, Salt Spring Island, and Southern Gulf Islands Electoral Areas. In 2022, the CRD distributed $3 million of funding to 28 projects in these three Electoral Areas through the Government of Canada's Community-Building Fund.
Today it was announced that more than 135 people experiencing homelessness in the Greater Victoria area now have new homes with supports as three new projects open in the region.

The Capital Regional Hospital District (CRHD) 2023 Financial Plan was approved at a Special Board meeting on March 15. The Capital Region Housing Corporation (CRHC) Financial Plans were approved by the CRHC Board on December 14, 2022.
