The Capital Regional District (CRD) is constructing a new Field Operations Centre for Infrastructure & Water Services at 2995 Sooke Lake Road in Langford. This modern, two-storey facility will consolidate watershed protection, water quality, hydrology, and operational support services into a single, efficient location.

Designed for approximately 75 staff, the building will include field laboratories, office and meeting spaces, staff amenities, and flexible work areas. The project also includes upgraded site infrastructure, expanded parking and equipment areas, sustainable landscaping, and new utility connections. Built to high energy-efficiency and low-carbon standards, the facility will strengthen CRD’s ability to provide and protect regional drinking water resources and support essential field operations well into the future.

The new building will be located behind the existing house at 2995 Sooke Lake Road. Once the facility is complete, the current house and two temporary office trailers will be removed and the area will be landscaped. As required under the City of Langford’s building permit, the CRD will also extend and connect to the municipal sewer system to service the new building.
