Declaration of Candidates

Publication Date

The official nomination period for the 2026 general local elections has now closed. Every
four years, the Capital Regional District (CRD) conducts general local elections to elect a Director to
represent each of its three Electoral Areas and four Commissioners to the Salt Spring Island Local
Community Commission. The CRD also conducts general local elections on behalf of the Islands
Trust for Galiano Island, Mayne Island, North Pender Island, South Pender Island, Salt Spring Island, and Saturna Island Local Trust Areas.
