The Seagirt Improvement District (SID) was established in 1961 to provide potable drinking water to properties on, and adjacent to, Seagirt Road located in East Sooke. In 2022, the SID ran a successful petition to dissolve and establish a CRD water service. In January of 2023 the assets of the Seagirt Improvement Waterworks District were transferred to the CRD.

This existing system requires a full upgrade and will be designed in conjunction with the Distribution Water Main Replacement Program. System upgrade construction is currently underway and anticipated to be completed by July 2024.
