Existing Complex and Proposed Redevelopment

Village on the Green is an existing 38-unit Capital Region Housing Corporation (CRHC) complex, located in the Fernwood neighbourhood of Victoria. The proposed redevelopment would see the number of homes on site increase from 38 to 140 units of affordable housing. The start date of the project is targeted for Q2 2025, with a likely completion date 32 months later. The conceptual budget for the Village on the Green development is $65 million.

Proposed Features include:

  • Affordable rentals
  • 40 studio units
  • 47 1-bedroom units
  • 28 2-bedroom units
  • 25 3-bedroom units
  • 43 vehicle parking spaces (including visitor and accessible)
  • 195 bicycle parking spaces
  • Close to parks, shopping and schools
  • On public transportation route
  • Private balcony space for 2- and 3-bedroom units
  • Children's playground area
  • External courtyard with raised garden beds
  • Designated amenity room
  • Targeting BC Energy Step Code 4

Project Updates

July 26, 2023: CRHC and its consultants submitted the Development Permit to the City of Victoria.
