Mount Work Regional Park - Hartland (Saanich)

This is a professional development workshop for teachers teaching grades K-5.

Teachers are invited to join CRD educators for an Indigenous perspectives guided walk in Mount Work Regional Park, followed by a tour of Hartland Landfill and Recycling Depot. This free event will connect you with programs and resources to share locally connected lesson ideas with your class.

    • Light refreshments will be provided; please bring a cold lunch and a reusable mug.
    • Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear. The guided walk portion of the day will be outdoors and will last about an hour and a half.
    • The trail is 800 metres long with compact soil or gravel surface and a slight incline, with rocky portions and exposed roots.
    • The indoor portion of the day will be in the Hartland Learning Centre, accessible only by stairs. There is no elevator or ramp.
    • Please park vehicles in either of the parking lots before the main landfill gates, and walk to the Hartland Learning Centre from there. Carpooling is encouraged.

Pre-registration is required as space is limited. There's no payment required and we'll send out a confirmation email closer to the date.
