Witty’s Lagoon Regional Park (Central Saanich)
Red crabs, green crabs, purple crabs, hermit crabs - this beach has them all! Meet some of the crabs and their cousins that make Witty’s Lagoon their home. Enjoy intertidal observation and discover how you can explore their home with kindness.
Meeting place: Enter the park at the main entrance off Metchosin Road. Meet at the Witty’s Beach kiosk at the end of the Beach Trail. Allow 20 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the beach kiosk.
Trail Description: 1.2km trail down to beach; 500m guided walk on beach. A steep wide gravel trail near the main parking lot, leading to a narrow trail with tree roots with steep and slight inclines along the way. The surface for the walk itself is a combination of sandy and rocky beach. Accessible washrooms available near parking lot.
