Island View Beach Regional Park (Central Saanich)
Red crabs, green crabs, purple crabs, hermit crabs - this beach has them all! Meet some of the crabs and their cousins that make Island View Beach their special home. Join a CRD Regional Parks naturalist for some intertidal observation and discover how you can explore their home with kindness. Be prepared to get your feet wet; bring sandals or beach shoes.
Meeting place: The grassy area adjacent to the picnic shelter off Homathko Road.
Trail description: 800m walk on sandy and rocky beach with driftwood. Accessible washroom at parking lot.
Please note: We like pets too. However, their presence can be disruptive for some folks. If you plan to attend one of our programs, please leave pets at home. Guide and service animals are, of course, welcome.
