Hartland Learning Centre - Hartland Landfill
Teachers are invited to join CRD educators for an Indigenous perspectives guided walk in Mount Work Regional Park, followed by a tour of Hartland Landfill and Recycling Depot. This free event will connect you with programs and resources to share locally connected lesson ideas with your class.
- Light refreshments will be provided; please bring a cold lunch and a reusable mug.
- Please dress for the weather with sturdy footwear. The guided walk portion of the day will be outdoors and will last an hour and a half.
- The trail is 800 metres long with compact soil or gravel surface and a slight incline, with rocky portions and exposed roots.
- The indoor portion of the day will be in the Hartland Learning Centre, accessible only by stairs. There is no elevator or ramp.
- Please park personal vehicles in either of the parking lots before the main landfill gates, and walk to the Hartland Learning Centre from there. Carpooling is encouraged.
Pre-registration is required as space is limited. The CRD’s secure online registration site allows you to register immediately for the workshop with no wait. You will first have to create an account. There's no payment required and we'll send out a confirmation email closer to the date.
