    Water use almost doubles in the summertime, primarily due to outdoor water use like lawn watering. Maintaining a turfgrass lawn can have a high environment cost for irrigation, mowing and fertilizers, but it is perfectly possible to have a good-looking lawn without the high environmental cost. Not only will you save water and money, but it is much less work. Learn how to mow correctly, how much water lawns really need, how to grow a lawn that suppresses weeds and why thatch in not a problem in a healthy lawn.
