Discuss Housing on Salt Spring at the upcoming Community Town Hall

    Project Background

Salt Spring is growing. It is estimated that the island would need 825
new homes by 2026 and 2,550 new homes by 2041 to meet local need.
To help address this, Salt Spring Island is developing a new Integrated Housing Strategy and Action Plan to guide how we approach housing needs and affordability in our community. The Strategy will outline ways the CRD, Islands Trust, LCC, other regulators, housing providers, and infrastructure services can work together to ensure that housing needs are met. It will build on the significant work already done to understand housing on Salt Spring to set a clear and practical direction for the future of both rental and ownership housing.
