    To learn more about the following improvement projects and the petition process, attend the public information session at the Mayne Island Community Centre August 12, 2025.

    The Surfside Park Estates Water System requires upgrades and current capital reserves are insufficient to cover the projected capital costs of $2,000,000. Upgrades include the total replacement of the Wood Dale Drive watermain and the total replacement of the water storage tank. The funding would include the design and construction of the infrastructure and upgrades, and equipment and material purchases of the watermains and storage tank. A petition is required to borrow the funds to complete the improvement projects.  Homeowners must return their petitions no later than October 1, 2025.

    The Skana Water System requires upgrades and current capital reserves are insufficient to cover the projected capital costs of $1,100,000. Multiple projects including the total replacement of the two water storage tanks, upgrades to well #8 and implementation of source water surveillance are deemed necessary to continue providing safe drinking water for the service area. A petition is required to borrow the funds to complete the improvement projects.  Homeowners must return their petitions no later than October 12, 2025.
