Regional Growth Strategy Amendment Process

The Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) provides guidelines on when a municipal council or the CRD can initiate an amendment to the strategy. It acknowledges that municipalities and the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area will update their Official Community Plans (OCPs) over the RGS's 20-year planning horizon. These OCP updates help implement the RGS and indicate when amendments are needed to address community needs in housing, commercial, industrial, institutional, agricultural, recreational and public utilities. This infographic summarizes the RGS amendment guidelines and process.
