Bear Hill Regional Park features scenic woodland trails that are popular with hikers and horseback riders. The trails are especially vibrant with wildflowers in spring.
The summit provides stunning views of the Saanich Peninsula, Mount Baker, and nearby islands. The park spans nearly 49 hectares of hilly terrain and features some of the oldest rock formations on Vancouver Island. The park’s gentle trails wind through forests of Douglas Fir, Garry Oak, and Arbutus trees.
Please note that there are no public facilities in the park, and that some equestrian trails can be steep and challenging and may not be suited for novice riders.

To help preserve the park:
- Keep your dog under control or on a leash.
- Stay on marked trails and do not disturb plants or animals.
- Clean up after your dog and take all your trash with you.
- Smoking is not allowed in parks or on trails.
- Bicycles and motorized vehicles are not allowed.
- Camping, open fires, and alcohol are not allowed.

How to Get There
Follow the Pat Bay Highway from Victoria. Turn left on Sayward Road, left again on Hamsterley Road, then right on Brookleigh Road. Turn right on Oldfield Road, then right on Bear Hill Road, which leads to the park entrance. Allow approximately 25 minutes driving time from Victoria.
Public Transportation
Take BC Transit bus #75 from Victoria to Central Saanich and Tanner Rd. The park is approximately a 2-kilometre walk from the bus stop. Contact BC Transit for schedule information.
