East Point Regional Park

Regional Park
Southern Gulf Islands

Located on Saturna Island, East Point Regional Park can be found 15 kilometers from the ferry terminal at Lyall Harbour. The park is famous for its unique coastal bluffs and is linked to Gulf Islands National Park Reserve. It offers beautiful views of the San Juan Islands and the mainland of Washington State.

The light station at East Point was constructed between 1881 and 1887 to alert navigators to the dangerous waters of Boiling Reef offshore. This area is excellent for wildlife viewing, as the nutrient-rich waters flow around the point, attracting a variety of marine life, including 25 species of whales and dolphins, five species of seals and sea lions, and river and sea otters.

From the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island to the inland Salish Sea, Whale Trail sites like East Point provide stunning views and great chances to see these marine mammals. Find more information on East Point on the Whale Trail website.
