Horth Hill Regional Park

Regional Park
North Saanich

Horth Hill is a 36-hectare park on the northern end of the Saanich Peninsula. The park offers stunning views of Satellite Channel, the Saanich Peninsula, and the Gulf Islands.

Horth Hill features some of the oldest rock on Vancouver Island. About 15,000 years ago, glaciers moved over this area, shaping the land and leaving behind rounded hills called monadnocks. Horth Hill is one of these monadnocks, formed by the thick ice that smoothed and rounded the rocks. You might notice grooves and shiny surfaces on the rocks, which show how the glaciers shaped the landscape.

Enjoy a hike up the Summit Trail to see wildflowers in spring and stunning panoramas of the Saanich Peninsula, Gulf Islands, and San Juan Islands year round. With many native plants and mushrooms, each season offers beautiful sights for nature lovers.
