Lone Tree Hill Regional Park

Regional Park
Highlands

This park is named after a unique Douglas-fir tree that looked like a bonsai and was designated a "Heritage Tree." Standing just four meters tall, it thrived on the hillside for over two centuries.

Climb past the dry, rocky vegetation to reach the 364-meter summit of Lone Tree Hill. From the top, you’ll see views of the Malahat, the Highlands, Victoria, and the distant Olympic Mountains.

The hilltop is a great place for birdwatching—keep an eye out for bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, and turkey vultures soaring above.

Lone Tree Hill is especially beautiful in spring when wildflowers like fawn lilies, shooting stars, and common camas bloom on the hillside.
