E&N Rail Trail - Humpback Connector
The E&N Rail Trail - Humpback Connector is a 13.5km paved bike and walking trail that follows the old E&N railway line. It runs through Victoria, Esquimalt, View Royal and Langford. The trail connects Victoria and the West Shore, making it a great place for outdoor activities. It is part of regional trails network which includes Galloping Goose and Lochside regional trails.
The E&N Rail Trail starts at Esquimalt Road, close to Robert and William streets in Victoria. You can reach it from downtown Victoria using the Kimta Connector. There are bike lanes and sidewalks on Esquimalt Road to help you access the trail from nearby areas.
If you prefer to park and ride, there's a designated parking lot for the E&N Rail Trail and Galloping Goose at Atkins Road in View Royal. You can also find on-street parking in other spots along the trail.

Suggested Day Trip
Start your day at Portage Park in View Royal, right next to the E&N Rail Trail. From there, you can hop onto the E&N Rail Trail, which connects to the Galloping Goose Trail at Atkins Road. For about 2 kilometers, both trails run together. After that, you can continue along the Galloping Goose, passing by several regional parks along the way.

CRD regional trails are multi-use, which means that people who walk, bike, and roll are all welcome – We all belong here! Below are basic trail etiquette tips that make our regional trail system safe and enjoyable for everyone:
- Keep right except to pass
- Control your speed
- Yield to pedestrians and horse riders
- When passing, alert other trail users and use caution
- Be Alert and Visible: Wear reflective gear and use a light.
- Keep pets on leash and on the right side of the trail
- Communicate with signals and eye contact
- Respect the trail environment and neighbouring lands
- Be extra cautious and visible at road crossings. Right-of-way varies, depending on the municipality
- Cooperate and show mutual respect
- Show kindness to fellow trail users if they make mistakes. Consider a nod, wave or smile when passing others
