First Wolf Dancer Totem

Description

A carved figure stands tall, wearing a wolf mask and clutching a wolf figure.

This totem was created by Art Thompson of the Ditidaht Village, part of the Nuu-chah-nulth People of Vancouver Island’s west coast. It shows the story of how his people acquired the wolf dance from the wolves.
