Beyond the Curb offers free pop-up recycling depots at hub and community market locations across the capital region. Residents can drop off accepted materials at whichever location works best for them, regardless of municipality.
Staff are on-site to answer questions, guide residents on accepted materials, and help make recycling easier.
Beyond the Curb Hubs
A convenient way to recycle closer to home, Beyond the Curb Hubs accept curbside recycling materials along with a variety of specialty recyclables.
Hubs operate year-round on weekends. Additional locations will be added throughout the year; please check back for updated information.
Beyond the Curb Community Markets
Dropping off flexible plastics and foam packaging is now as easy as visiting your community market! Connect with your neighbours, support local businesses, and don’t forget to drop-off your recyclables.
Program runs May through October. More locations will be added throughout the season; please check back for updated information.
Alternative Drop-off Locations
Beyond the Curb hub and market locations are designed to complement existing permanent recycling depots across the capital region. Looking for another drop-off option or have a material that isn’t accepted through Beyond the Curb? Use What Goes Where to search by material and find depots that accept it.
Background
Beyond the Curb was designed to increase access and reduce barriers many residents face to properly recycle these items including uncertainty about how or where to dispose of them, limited transportation, and associated costs. Efforts to reduce landfilled waste lengthens the lifespan of Hartland Landfill and contributes to a more sustainable region. Recycling Beyond the Curb materials into new products extends their usable lifespan and supports a circular economy.
