Biography

Douglas Senft has been a practicing sculptor since 1972. He has had numerous public commissions in Canada, the United States and Europe, as well as exhibiting his work in both public and private galleries. He lives and works in Royston, B.C.

Resume

The majority of Senft's practice is involved with the creation of public art within urban centres. He has worked on several large-scale public art projects in the Lower Mainland. Senft has also taught sculpture at North Island College in Courtenay, BC.

All cast silicon bronze. The central bronze element ("estuary") is cast in concrete in situ and the balance of the work are cast bronze "pavers" - sand cast bronze that has had a concrete base cast to the underside, creating a "standard unit paver".
